2020 Virtual Conference

Due to increasing concerns about the coronavirus, the SAQA Board has decided that we should not risk asking everyone to travel to Toronto. This decision was made after reviewing the recommendations of various government entities in addition to receiving many emails from our members.

The good news is that we are converting the conference (including the Spotlight Auction) to a virtual event that will take place Thursday, March 19 to Saturday, March 21.  With this new format, we are able to extend registration to all SAQA members, no matter your location!

what is included

Most of the great speakers, panels, and break-out sessions will be included in the virtual conference — plus, we’ll be adding some bonus presentations that you’re going to love. We’re also coming up with some innovative ideas to maximize the experience of connecting online.

The virtual conference will start 7pm EDT on Thursday and then continue Friday and Saturday from 11am - 7pm each day. Don't worry - breaks and lunch are still scheduled but you will have to provide your own snacks!

HoW to participate

If you weren't scheduled to attend the conference, you can now participate. Register for the Virtual Conference (just $200) and help SAQA raise the funds needed to offset our losses.

Those who were already registered for the conference in Toronto do NOT need to register but will need to complete this form by 03/18/2020 to let us know what to do with your refund AND receive instructions on how to access the Virtual Conference. 

HoW will it work

The conference will be held online using the Zoom platform. Not familiar with Zoom? No worries - we will provide instructions on how to connect successfully. 

Most of the presentations will be easily accessible from a laptop, desktop, tablet, or cell phone with good internet access. Video meeting rooms for meet-and-greet and other small group activities will be best accessed from a laptop or desktop with a built in camera and microphone.

All the presentations and webinars will be recorded so you can watch them anytime between the conference and June 30. Even if you don’t log on during the live schedule or don’t watch everything during the conference period, you’ll have plenty of content to enjoy at your leisure. We’ll be using the Zoom video system and we’re confident it will be easy for everyone to log on and enjoy.
